Senso-jii Temple and Asakusa

The Asakusa area
A shrine at the temple. Some people stopped and prayed at this one as well.

So many people use bicycles as transportation here. Many people have baskets both in the front and the back of their bikes for their children or other things. This bike had a little girl in the basket, and even had a little windshield to block the wind.

Senso-jii temple

A huge lantern at the entrance to the temple.
Their were 2 of these "guardians" at the entrance into the temple area.
At the temple, you could choose a fortune out of little boxes, and then if it were a bad fortune, you could pay to get rid of them and then tie these "bad fortunes" onto this thing. Looks like alot of people had bad fortunes for the day.....
Alot of people were throwing money into this little well and praying.

The architecture of the buildings were very elaborate and pretty.

Another little shrine.

I bet these pictures bring back memories to Daniel when he was in Japan.
