Cartegena, Columbia---August 26, 2008

Pulling up to Cartagena, Columbia

Performers they had at the pier.
All the excursion busses lined up ready to go.

Jared and I atop the monastary, with the cityscape of Cartegena in the background.
On another stop, we stopped at a monastary up at the top of a hill. Above is a shot of the city.
A doorway up at the top of the fort that went down inside.
The entrance of the Fort.
This pic is out of order, it is another from the old walled part of the city, it was in a piazza area that reminded me of piazzas in Italy, complete with fountains, pigeons, etc.

On our Cartegena excursion that just Jared and I went on, we went to the San Philipe Fort where Romancing the Stone was filmed.

We could not pass up the opportunity to get our picture taken with a sloth. It was so limp and lazy. I just hope that this is how the animal really is, and not due to any neglect. It was really cute!

The old part of the city:

Some living statues
A pretty fountain in a local park.
